Meet Kenny
Kenny Ballentine is a mediation video expert who has also worked as a documentary filmmaker for 15 years. His documentaries have screened all over the world, have been honored with several awards and have even earned him a special invitation to The Whitehouse. His years of experience as a non-fiction story-teller have given him a unique set of skills that make him an extremely valuable asset to any lawyer who is preparing to enter the mediation process. Kenny’s greatest skill is that of an empathic interviewer. He has years of experience helping people tell very difficult and often tragic stories on camera. Kenny has the unique ability to help people relax and feel safe on camera. This allows the interviewee to open up and be authentic. The result is a powerful and emotional story that will insure the adjusters and opposing counsel will see your client’s story the same way you do.

The process
The Mediation.Video process is streamlined and easy…
Pre-Visualization and Planning
Mediation.Video experience begins with a planning and pre-vis call with Kenny. This time is used to discuss the details of the case and determine the best way to tell your clients story. We will also determine who should be interviewed, and what B-Roll, locations, photos or additional videos should be included in the project. This is also when we determine a schedule for the rest of the project.
Production Day
Production days are long days! Kenny will often interview as many as 12 people in one sitting for a mediation video. In addition to the client, these interviews often include friends, family, co-workers, witnesses, and medical professionals. Production day is also used to capture footage that demonstrates how the client’s injuries are impacting their daily life. Sometimes production days also include a visit to the site of the accident or the medical facility where the client received treatment.
Post Production
No more than 10 days later you will receive an edited video for review (editing includes sound mixing, color correcting, graphics and music). Often our clients are happy with the first cut and no revisions are needed, but sometimes changes need to be made. Attorneys are encouraged to write detailed notes on any requested revisions. If revisions are needed, a final cut will be delivered no later than 5 business days after notes are provided.
